It would be helpful for
your child to go to http://www.collegeboard.com/ap/
and look for the link to the physics section. At this location your child will find a great deal of helpful
advice regarding the AP Physics test and helpful material to prepare for the
test. There area also archived AP tests
on this site. In addition you will find
helpful information about the AP test.
Parents, please be aware
that AP Physics is a very demanding course. It is considered a college physics
class. Your child will be given a lot
of homework and much of it is for the purpose of practicing physics and not for
a grade. For many students doing work
without the promise of a grade is a difficult concept, but, as you know, it is
one that must be understood in order to succeed at the college level. You child must review notes and work and
rework problems every night in order to be successful in this course. I will make every possible effort to help
your child. However, many of my
students have found it helpful to form study groups. You may wish to encourage your child to do this as well and you
may want to consider making your house a welcome location for such a group to
meet.
